“Where the Aussie’s refrain from becoming Just a lil’ Goaty”

Here at JKKJ Farms our mission is pretty straight forward … God, Family, Friends, and Aussies!! What more could you possibly want in life.

We are a small family owned and operated hobby farm located in SETX and our little farm would not be complete without our Miniature American Shepherds (MAS) and our Australian Shepherds (Aussies). These highly intelligent pups have so much to offer whether it’s in the show ring, your lap, some form of service, or rounding up your livestock. Our Aussies / MAS are more than just our furry friends! They are family and we want them to be well socialized, happy, and healthy for you and your family too.

Five fluffy black and white puppies sit and interact playfully on a wooden floor in front of a stone fireplace, with one yawning and another nuzzling its sibling.

We raise dual registered dogs via the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the American Stock Dog Registry (ASDR).  Our breeders are genetically tested and our puppies are tested as well if they have a carrier parent. OFAs are currently underway on our adult breeders. Here at JKKJ Farms we strive to meet breed standards set in motion by AKC / ASCA. Check out our FAQ page for “What to expect when getting an Aussie / MAS puppy from us”.

Health Guarantee

We are setting the standard with our comprehensive one year Health Guarantee for your peace of mind which includes life time breeder/companion support. Occasionally we place puppies into small breeding programs with mentorship.

Education & Socialization

Each puppy is empowered with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and we are working on implementing an Early Scent Introduction (ESI) program. Our puppies start potty training at 2.5-3wks old. Followed by crate training at 4wks, and doggie door training at 6wks old giving them the foundational tools for success in your home. Please keep in mine they are puppies and they will still have accidents. Consistency is key.

Quick Facts About Australian shepherds & Mini American SHEPHERDS (MAS):

Toys: Up to 13 inches tall, weight varies
Minis: 13-18 inches tall, weight varies
Standards: 18 inches tall and up, weight varies

-AKC only recognizes the Australian Shepherd 18″ and up anything smaller is considered Miniature American Shepherd (MAS). ASDR recognizes Australian Shepherds by size: Toy, Mini, & Standard.

-They have a double coat that aids in temperature regulation. Their coat also protects them from the elements and it helps repel water and dirt. Regular grooming is extremely crucial. These dogs do shed and shaving them can damage their undercoat. If you plan to shave them please look into a short haired breed. Shaving them makes their coat coarse, it causes increased matting, and it causes temperature regulation issues.

-They come in a variety of colors. Breed Standard approved colors are: Red or Black Bi/Tri. Solid Red or Black. Red or Blue Merle with or without copper trim. Please check out out color genetics tab under the learn link for more details on standard vs non-standard colors.

-They can be born w/a natural bob-tail or with a tail which is typically docked. Please noted we do retain tails. Check our waitlist/deposit agreement under the forms tab for more details.

-Their eyes come in various shades of amber, blue, green, and or brown. Sometimes one of each color and or multiple colors in one or both eyes which is called heterochromia. Fun Fact: Green is the rarest color.

-Life expectancy is approximately 13-15 y/o. However, I have seen some as old as 20yrs old.

-They are highly intelligent, eager to please, hard working, versatile, reserved, protective, hardy dogs. Some call them shadow and or velcro dogs.

-While these dogs can adapt to any lifestyle please know they are livestock herding dogs and they absolutely love having a job.

-Lastly, when inquiring on a pup be open to your breeder suggestions, they know their dogs and their puppies. As a breeder I prefer placing puppies based on our families lifestyle. The more you tell me about your life the better equipped I am to helping you find the perfect four-legged family member. My ultimate goal is to place my pups in homes based on temperament, etc. Please know if you are sold on coat color and gender alone I cannot guarantee your pup will be the perfect match but I will do my best to work with them based on the information you provide.

No rest for this caregiver… I am always trying to save something or at least give them a fighting chance ♥️ Pictured above is a lil’runt who needed a little extra TLC and a rare pic of the hot mess express who just got off work to tend to her. Gotta love behind the scenes pics, lol.
